Good evening, I have a question that so far no one has solved for me 100% because opinions differ. I put the Vectra 3D ampoule on my dog, the thing is that because of the heat he likes the water, for example he drops the bowl of water and lies down in the water, after the walk we often give him a quick bath because he gets unimaginably hot and suffers. My question is the following. If I observe for 2 days before and 3 days after the ampoule not to give him a bath and I give him a bath in 10 days, or if he gets wet 5 days after we put the ampoule, does it stop working on his skin?? So I have to take ampoules 2 and 3 times a month if I happen to get wet? Half of them tell me that it doesn't matter if it gets wet all month, or others tell me that it doesn't matter. What really matters?
I am not a veterinarian, but I can try to provide some general information based on my knowledge. It's essential to follow your veterinarian's specific instructions when using any medication or topical treatment on your dog.
Vectra 3D is a topical flea and tick treatment designed to protect your dog from these pests for a month after application. When applying such treatments, it's common for manufacturers to recommend avoiding bathing or swimming for a certain period to ensure the product's efficacy. This is because bathing or exposure to water can potentially reduce the effectiveness of the treatment.
To clarify the situation with Vectra 3D and bathing, refer to the product's packaging or the information provided by your veterinarian. They will be able to give you the most accurate and up-to-date instructions regarding applying Vectra 3D and bathing or swimming restrictions.
If you're uncertain about the product's effectiveness after your dog gets wet, it's best to contact your veterinarian for guidance. They can advise on how to proceed if your dog accidentally gets wet before the suggested timeframe has passed since applying the product.
Remember, different flea and tick treatments have varying guidelines, so it's crucial to follow the specific instructions for the product you are using to ensure the safety and effectiveness of your pet. Always consult your veterinarian if you have any doubts or questions regarding using any medication or treatment on your dog.
